“I came here because I had a very painful toothache a couple years ago. I got here right away, and they were very nice to me, and I only had to wait about five minutes, and then they brought me in. Dr. Colarusso was very nice. He helped me a lot. The other person that was in the room with me just kept talking to me and said that I would do fine and asked me what I was going to do the rest of the weekend and got me distracted from what as actually happening in my mouth. “I had fake teeth since I was in 7th grade, and Dr. Colarusso — I’m the landscaper here — he told me I couldn’t walk around here with teeth like that. So he basically told me I was coming in, and he was taking my teeth out. I had a bad bite, and he was going to fix me up. My bite, I couldn’t close, so I would eat a sandwich, and I’d be able to pull, and the bread would cut off, but the meat would basically come out. It was a Thursday morning, I believe, I went up to the Gardner office, he took out my teeth in about ten minutes. I was there for probably half an hour, did all my implant work. I had a flipper, and a couple months later, I had teeth implanted in my head. Oh, it’s awesome. It’s one of the best things I’ve done. Dr. Colarusso is a joker, and we had a good time, and he keeps you very relaxed and calm, and it’s a great situation. Oh, I would recommend Dr. Colarusso and CMOS anytime I have to refer someone.”

I felt like they went out of their way to accommodate my father — 87, frail, and was in excruciating pain. Dad’s procedure went amazing. “I came to Central Mass Oral Surgery because I had a second molar in desperate need of an extraction. My procedure, which was only done a week ago, went very, very well. Dr. Colarusso is quite the artist at what he does and puts his patients’ minds at ease. My recovery has been incredible. There has been very, very minimal discomfort, and the office calls my house to check up on me. The staff at Dr. Colarusso’s office is incredible. “After I retired, I wanted to get a full dental makeover, and I knew it was going to be time-consuming, so I needed that time allotment to do it. The first procedure would be extractions of some teeth, and the second would be the implants. The procedure went great. Six teeth were extracted. I had very little pain. Next day, I felt like brand new. Dr. Colarusso did my procedure here at CMOS. What a great personality — bigger than life, fun, put me at ease, very gentle. “I came to Central Mass Oral Surgery because I was referred by my local dentist. They needed to do extractions, and he said one of the best firms around is Central Mass Oral. I am not a fan of needles, etc., and Dr. Colarusso came in and assured me that I wouldn’t even know, and actually, after the first injection, I didn’t even know I had it. The procedure went very well, and what I find, I think they’re very professional and focused on the patient — their comfort level — and they also explained exactly what they were doing. Dr. Colarusso is, I think, very professional, very courteous, and really focuses really on the patient and puts them first to make sure they understand exactly what’s happening. A very good experience overall. I have Complex PTSD and was quite anxious, but everyone put me at ease. Between the numbing and the laughing gas, I had no discomfort. The recovery staff was awesome too. I had to go by myself and they made sure I am doing fine before I left and gave me all the time I needed. I came home with clear instructions, too.

Patient care is extremely lacking, zero regard for the well being of children. Zero post procedure follow up with the doctor. We were lied to by the dental assistant. This is a puppy mill, please stay away!

The only recommendation I have for improved service is dealing with emergencies: I was referred to CMOS by my dentist because I had an infected tooth that needed to come out as soon as possible. The first time I called, I was told there was nothing available for days, no protocol for handling emergencies and no call list available for cancellations. The only advice was to keep calling every day to see if there was an opening...not what you want to hear when you are in pain. When i called the next morning the woman I spoke with said we have an opening that afternoon...I don't know if this was the result of a cancellation or just an opening the first person missed. In any case, I would have appreciated being told when I first called that they would do their best to get me in and be put on a call list for urgent situations.

Everyone was over the top nice, and made the whole “tooth pulling” experience quick, painless and not-awful for my 9 year old. The doctor joked with my son, which he loved. My 90-year-old Mom needed a tooth extraction yesterday morning. We were referred to CMOS by our dentist who had x-rayed the tooth and discovered a crack and infection. This was the 1st time that anyone in my family had been to CMOS but other neighbors had spoken highly of the practice. The staff couldn't have been nicer, more professional, or accommodating. We were seen "on-time" and the tooth was out in about 5 minutes. The practice gave us clear instructions after the procedure and called me in the afternoon to find out how my Mom was doing. She did not experience any discomfort and is back to her old self today.
