• It is essential that you DO NOT EAT or DRINK anything, including water and candy for six (6) hours prior to the appointment. BUT you should eat and drink normally as close to the six hour fasting period as possible.
  • A responsible adult must accompany the patient to the office, remain in the office during the procedure, and drive the patient home.  We cannot begin general anesthesia if your ride is not here.
  • The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
  • Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing with a loose neckline, sleeves which can be rolled up past the elbow. Please wear well fitting low-heeled shoes, no sandals, clogs, high heels etc.
  • Contact lenses must be removed before your surgery.
  • Please remove all nail polish on at least one index finger on the day of surgery.
  • If you have an illness such as a cold, sore throat, stomach or bowel upset, please notify the office.
  • If you take routine oral medications, please take all of your medications according to your normal schedule, with a small amount of water on the day of your surgery.
  • If you own an inhaler, please bring it with you on the day of your surgery.
