Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Drs. Colarusso, Connors and Baran manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Drs. Colarusso, Connors and Baran practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from routine and complex tooth extractions to dental implant surgery, corrective jaw surgery and wisdom tooth removal. They can also diagnose and treat facial injuries, infections and jaw fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with I.V. sedation within our state of the art office setting. Patients are assessed before surgery and continuously monitored during and after surgery.
Clinical Assisting Team
The clinical assisting Team at Central Mass Oral Surgery is a group of experienced professionals with an average length of service of over nine years. Our anesthesia assistants have received specialized training in anesthesia assisting by the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and have passed the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE). We also have clinical assistants to help to prepare the surgical areas and who assure that all of our instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized between each use as well as recovery assistants who are trained in the care and assessment of our post-surgical patients. They provide home care instructions and will help with the discharge of our patients when they are ready to return home. We regularly hold emergency preparedness training drills within our office facilities. All of our staff members hold a current CPR certification.
